9/10- -Beginning- What do you think of Tom Sawyer so far? Engagement-Picture walk of this chapter. -Review vocabulary words for first section. -Read as a class Practice- comprehension questions and illustrate what happened in the story. Closure-Is it easier for you to understand the story by drawing or answering questions? 9/11-Beginning- What is a main idea? -Review vocabulary and people in 1st chapter. Engagement-Preview activity for section 1. -Discuss pictures and caption -Preview vocabulary and questions. -Read Silently Practice-Complete comprehension check, vocabulary check, and crossword puzzle independently. Also, write a paragraph about the main idea of the story. Closure-Has your opinion of Tom changed? 9/12- Beginning- What is a funeral?
